I can't go to my parents because they'll worry and I can't really talk to any of my friends because they are just like me, labeled as an "adult" but not really one yet.

For a 16 year old to date a 14 year old is not illegal. It's a pure choice and you are only dating her (Is dating illegal?? You will never be taken to the court for loving or dating somebody… However, there is only one reason that a 17 year old would go out with a 14 year old and any sort of sexual contact is going to be illegal anywhere in the US.

However, and this is more to the point, the law also gives parents the right to say who their minor children may or may not see. NOTHING in the law is going to force a parent to let their minor child see or have any contact with someone they do not want him or her to have contact with.

(I know he'd be a "runaway" and I could be charged for "harboring a runaway") But that was only an extreme moment, said out of anger.

I want to try and respect his mother's wishes as best as I can, but at the same time I don't want to lose my relationship with him either. I don't mind if you have something to say that you think might upset me, I just want advice.

I know that a girl dating a younger guy is not usually the common thing, in fact, he is my first boyfriend that is younger than me.

I am a senior and he is a junior and we're both comfortable with our age difference.

I think it's fine, I have been with guys before and it's been a 3-5 year difference and nothing sexual activity was there really, if you're okay with it then go for it, you shouldn't care what other people think! You could be in 2nd year university and they would still have years of school to go.

It is not the age gap (28 and 25, 23 and 20 are obviously fine), but rather, those exact ages which make it wrong.

However, if there is any sexual congress between them, that IS illegal.

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Ohio i am a 16 year old. are there any laws peventing us from dating if he is 18 and i am a minor but we are less than 2 years apart in age?

Even a 16 and 19 year isn't seen as good so you'll risk a lot with a 15 year old.
